The City of Topeka will accept applications from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 6, at 620 SE Madison, first floor, for people needing help with paying utility bills that if left unpaid could lead to homelessness.
Applicants can not be homeowners, must live within the city limits of Topeka and have incomes at 50% of the median family gross annual income or below.
More specifically, a one person household can’t have an income of more than $21,145; two-person, $24,500; three-person, $27,600; four-person, $30,650; five-person, $33,100; six-person, $35,550; seven-person, $38,000; and eight-person, $40,450.

Applications for assistance will not be accepted without all required documentation. It should also be noted that all units will be inspected. Applicants will be approved or denied on the day of the event after passed inspection.
