Topeka, KS (February 27th, 2008) – Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) is pleased to announce the launch of a free, web-based housing locator service linking people with affordable rental housing throughout Kansas. KSHousingSearch.org allows landlords, including providers of critically needed affordable and special needs housing, to advertise their properties FREE of charge, while helping renters to easily find property that fits their needs.
“With 12,000 hits made during the last month, this service already lists over 11,000 units in 30 counties and will potentially serve as “one-stop shopping” for rental housing,” said KHRC Deputy Director Norma Phillips. “The site will be an important resource for Kansas communities facing active storm seasons which often leave families searching for available housing,” added Phillips.
Properties listed on kshousingsearch.org include housing offered by private landlords and public entities. Many of the affordable rental units developed through KHRC’s multi-family housing tax credit program and HOME Rental program are also listed. Prospective tenants can search on-line 24 hours a day or contact a toll-free, bilingual search support call center (1-877-428-8844) Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm CST.
